About me

I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Aberdeen since 2010. I completed my Basic Surgical Training in Glasgow, Higher Surgical Training in Aberdeen and Fellowship Training in Melbourne.
My main areas of clinical practice are
1) Knee surgery including arthroscopic knee surgery, Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction, meniscal cartilage surgery, knee replacement surgery, High Tibial Osteotomy, Patellar stabilisation/trochleoplasty.
2) Lower limb arthroplasty - hip and knee replacement surgery including total and partial knee replacements. I have an interest in MAKO robotic assisted surgery for customised joint replacements.
3) Sports injuries.
4) Forefoot surgery.
5) Orthopaedic trauma surgery.

Knee cartilage tears; arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures.
Knee ligament rupture; Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction; Medial Patello-Femoral Ligament (MPFL) reconstruction.
Knee osteoarthritis; knee replacement surgery (MAKO robotic arm assisted, partial and total replacements); High Tibial Osteotomies (HTO); Hyaluronic Acid (HA) or Platelet-rich Plasma (PrP) injections.
Hip arthritis; hip replacements.
Sports injuries; ligament ruptures; tendinopathies; tendinitis; stress fractures.
Foot conditions; bunions (hallux valgus); joint fusion; plantar fasciitis.
Post-traumatic reconstruction; removal of metalwork; corrective osteotomies.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; carpal tunnel decompression.
