About me
Since graduating in 1996, Michelle initially trained and worked as a GP before undertaking specialist training in SEM. She has twenty-five years experience working in SEM which has included providing expertise in team, event and expedition medicine.
She is a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine and has previously worked for the MOD in RRU Edinburgh and as SEM Consultant for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Unit at Headley Court. Michelle has completed a post-graduate certificate in musculo-skeletal ultrasound.
Michelle has extensive experience working with elite sport. She currently leads the SEM team at Sportscotland Institute of Sport where she has worked for 15 years.. She worked as a Team Scotland doctor at Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2014 ;Gold Coast 2018; Birmingham 2022 and Glasgow 2026. She worked with Team GB at Tokyo Olympics 2020 and as CMO for ParalympicsGB at Winter Olympics Milan-Cortina 2026.
