About me

Mr Khalil is a full time Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he is providing a Medical Retina service especially AMD (Macular Degeneration). He performs, Phakoemulsification and Intraocular Lens Implants Cataract surgery and Intravitreal injections of Lucentis, Aflirbicept, for AMD, Ozurdex Implants and Triamcinolone and Lucentis and Avastin for Retinal Vein Occlusion, Ocriplasmin for Vitreomacular traction etc. He also performs Photodynamic therapy (PDT) in selected cases of Medical Retina diseases. Mr Khalil practices General Ophthalmology where he treats Glaucoma, Cataract, Ocular trauma, Corneal and Conjunctival, neurological diseases and uveitis. He is an examiner of Fellowship Examination of Royal College of Ophthalmologist. He graduated from University of The Punjab, Pakistan and started his training in Stirling and Falkirk Royal Infirmary. He did Medical Retina Fellowship at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool.

Mr Khalil wanted to be an Eye Surgeon as a child when his father suddenly lost his sight and that gives him tremendous empathy for every patient that he sees.
