About me

As a consultant cardiologist with a busy NHS practice I am fully versed with the vast majority of cardiovascular conditions. I undertook research training at City Hospital in Birmingham examining the role of the nervous system and how it influences the heart. I have written a doctorate thesis on the subject and have a number of publications in cardiovascular journals as well as having the opportunity to present my research internationally. My specialist training has involved placements in a number of hospitals across the West Midlands. I have undertaken further specialist training in heart failure, pacemakers and heart rhythm disturbances. I run a specialist clinic for patients who suffer from heart rhythm problems as well as patients who suffer fainting or blackouts. I also run a chest pain clinic to provide a rapid diagnosis for anyone suffering with chest pains. I am trained in most cardiology procedures, including ECG (heart tracing) interpretation, echocardiography (heart scanning), cardiac catheterisation, simple and complex pacemaker implantation.
