He has a special interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) gastrointestinal surgery for bowel cancer (colon and rectum), inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), diverticular disease, and rectal prolapse.
He has specialist expertise in laparoscopic and open groin hernia surgery (inguinal, umbilical, femoral, spigelian) and abdominal incisional hernia repair.

He graduated from St Marys Hospital in London and then completed surgical training in the South-East Thames region, before a year-long fellowship in pelvic floor surgery at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He has a strong academic interest in clinical surgery and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
He is an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and trains young surgeons in advanced keyhole surgery.
