About me

All of us want to feel happy - to feel good about ourselves, our careers and our relationships. When we feel happy the world around us looks great and obstacles viewed as challenges we can overcome and it's easier to be disciplined in our thoughts and feelings and say "no" to that extra piece of cake or cigarette. We feel more resilient to withstand the criticism of others whether at home or at work.

Sadly, unhappiness affects not only our perception of ourselves but also all those things and relationships which once brought us happiness. Now these represent pain and despair and we may feel anxious and unable to cope. Some may even sink into depression and use alcohol or food to mask their feelings.

Whichever the source of our unhappiness recognising that we need help and asking for it is never easy, let alone when we feel at a low ebb and emotionally vulnerable.

Sometimes we can resolve the problems ourselves, but there are times when we need the professional help of a counsellor - free from judgment - to help us overcome our problem.
