About me
I am a Consultant General, Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgeon. I work in the NHS at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and practice privately at Spire Parkway Hospital, Solihull and BMI Priory Hospital, Edgbaston.
I am the Trust Lead for Colorectal Cancer and sat on the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland Council from 2016 - 2019.
Outside of work I enjoy supporting Somerset County Cricket Club, cooking, and spending time with my two children.
Areas of interest
Specialist interests in the use of laparoscopic surgery to treat colorectal conditions, including cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Tertiary referral practice for patients with locally advanced and recurrent rectal cancer.
Multi-disciplinary management of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, including rectal prolapse, obstructive defaecation and rectocele.
Treatments for benign anorectal conditions, including anal fissure, anal fistula and pilonidal sinus. Modern surgical management techniques for the treatment of haemorrhoids (piles), including Rafaelo procedure (radio frequency treatment), eXroid (electro therapy) and THD (haemorrhoidal artery ligation).
Colonoscopy (JAG-accredited).
Surgery for a full range of general surgery conditions, including hernias (inguinal, umbilical, epigastric, incisional, parastomal), which are treated laparoscopically where appropriate, and the removal of lumps and bumps.
