About me
Dr Sheinman trained initially in Pharmacy and obtained a BPharm(Hons) degree at the School of Pharmacy University of London, specializing in Pharmacology. Following this he was accepted for training at the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Pre-registration posts were at Barts and the Royal Berkshire, Reading, followed by higher training posts at the Whittington, Barts and the Royal Free and back to Barts where he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London and an MD research degree on various aspects of histamine presence in the respiratory tract and made the original discovery that histamine is produced by a common respiratory pathogenic bacteria.
Until he left the NHS, he was Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to the North Middlesex Hospital University Trust. He is a Founder Member of the British Thoracic Society Specialist Advisory Group on Cough and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians
He possesses an NHS Clinical Excellence Award and was the Clinical Lead for Asthma, Clinical Lead for Bronchoscopy and heads the Persistent Cough Clinic,the Asthma and Allergy Clinic and also holds clinics in Lung Cancer, TB and General Respiratory Medicine
Dr Sheinman introduced Advanced Bronchoscopy to the North Middlesex Hospital in 2011 and set up the Endobronchial Ultrasound with Transbronchial Node Aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) service.
Dr Sheinman also practices privately at the Wellington Hospital, and Director of the Persistent Cough Clinic which has been set up recently (2018)
