About me
Greg Wynn is a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in colorectal surgery. Based in Colchester, he is heavily involved in all aspects of minimal access surgery as well as natural orifice surgery. His main sub specialist interest is in disorders of the bowel and abdomen including hernias.
He graduated from the University College London Medical School in 1996. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has a Doctorate of Medicine from UCL after research into mechanisms of pain transmission from the bowel, work that has increased our understanding of irritable bowel syndrome. He has undertaken fellowships in rectal cancer in Sao Paulo, advanced minimal access surgery in Hong Kong and in natural orifice surgery in Rio de Janeiro and has worked as a consultant surgeon in Colchester since 2009. He is a national trainer for the department of health in laparoscopic bowel surgery and his keen interest in training has led him to develop the world’s first virtual reality laparoscopic colorectal training curriculum. He has been invited to teach and train i general surgwry in many overseas countries including Brazil, Burma and Tanzania.
