About me

Dr Alessandro Giardini is a Senior Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Cardiologist in London and one of the leading specialists in children's heart disease in the United Kingdom. He has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children since 2007, where he serves as Director of Inpatient Services, overseeing the cardiac ward and high dependency unit. Dr. Giardini holds an Honorary Associate Professor position at UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science and an Associate Professorship recognised by the Italian Ministry of Higher Education.
Dr Giardini completed his MD and PhD at the University of Bologna and undertook specialist training at the University of California, San Francisco. He has authored more than 140 peer-reviewed publications. His standing as a key opinion leader has led colleagues, families, and cardiology centres across the UK, Europe, North America, and Asia to seek his expert guidance and clinical opinion.
His expertise spans congenital heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, inherited cardiac conditions, complex single ventricle anatomy, and exercise physiology in children and adolescents.
