About me
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist offering psychological therapy and coaching.
My approach to therapy is mainly informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have also trained in Systemic and Narrative therapies. With competency in several models of therapy, I am able to offer a highly skilled and individualised assessment and treatment.
The focus of my work is to help you to regain a sense of control of your life and to feel less overwhelmed by adversity. Through therapeutic conversations we can gain a better understanding of the challenges you are facing. Together we can identify what changes you are hoping to make and how we can most effectively work towards these.
I have an open and non-judgemental attitude towards the issues you wish to address. I conduct the therapy sessions with your goals and needs in mind and seek to establish a confidential environment where you can feel comfortable and safe.
I have many years of experience working with individuals and families. I have previously worked in local authority services, hospitals and mental health institutions. I have worked in private practice in the City of London since 2011.
I see people dealing with a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, and bereavement. I have specialised in helping high-performing professionals recreate balance in their stressful lives.
I gained my academic degrees from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and I am authorised by the Danish Supervisory Board of Psychological Practice. I am chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I continuously seek to develop my professional skills by attending accredited courses and workshops, and I regularly undergo supervision.
I have completed the Level 1 Diploma in Metacognitive Therapy and am a registered therapist with the MCT-Institute.
