About me
Joe is a highly trained clinical psychologist who has over 10 years experience working in the NHS, with a wide range of problems and issues. He is passionate about his work and is a warm, down to earth person, who firmly believes that therapy can make a significant difference to a person’s life. Joe is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He regularly lectures, teaches and supervises other professionals in these approaches. He is also co-edited the text book, “Acceptance and Commitment Therapy & Mindfulness for Psychosis”, and also co-authored the self help book, “ACTivate Your Life”.

Research interests
Alongside his clinical work, specialising in the area of psychosis, Joe carries out research at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, being involved in a number of trials investigating the use of ACT with people with psychosis and within the workplace. He has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters in the clinical application of ACT and is currently leading on an RCT comparing ACT and mindfulness-based stress reduction interventions for workplace wellbeing.
Publications
In addition to numerous academic publications, Joe is co-editor of the book, ‘Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness for Psychosis’ published by Wiley-Blackwell.
