About me
Mr. Sotiris Vimplis is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Barts Health NHS Trust. He is the Lead Clinician for colposcopy and diagnostic oncology services for gynaecology at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
He undertook his specialist registrar training in Nottingham University Hospitals and the Mid Trent region and completed special skills training modules in laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy and gynaecological ultrasound. He was awarded the membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2004 and the title of specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007. He worked for two years as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen’s Medical Centre, University Hospital in Nottingham before moving to London.
Mr Vimplis has wide experience of treating a range of gynaecological problems including irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and prolapse. He also offers consultations for well women checks and cervical cancer screening. Much of his surgical expertise is in performing keyhole surgery. He participates to surgical camps at remote villages in Nepal for charity.
