Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Cyril Marek graduated from Charles University Prague Czech Republic in 1992. He was employed in an Orthopaedic Department of General Hospital in Ceska Lipa in Czech Republic and followed the postgradual training scheme under Institute for Postgardual Studies and 1st Medical School, Charles University, Prague and at Orthopaedic Clinic Bulovka Teaching Hospital, Prague. He was trained in the whole spectrum of orthopaedic and trauma skills. His training included a stage at Service Orthopédique de l´Hospital Universitaire Bichat, Paris, France under Professor Jean-Yves Alnot, stage at Trauma Centre and Department of Neurosurgery General Hospital Liberec. He was trained and for ten years performed ultrasonography of the newborns’ hip, diagnostics and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip. He was also involved in Emergency Medical Service for more than a decade. He successfully absolved 1st grade (1995) and 2nd grade (2003) attestation in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Since 2003 till 2006 as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon he held the post of deputy head surgeon of the Orthopaedic Department General Hospital Ceska Lipa which involved teaching of junior colleagues. Since May 2006 he is employed by Ramsay Healthcare (former Capio) at Blakelands Hospital, Milton Keynes, The Cherwell Hospital, Banbury. Since in UK he continues his higher surgical training attending training events in UK and abroad. At this late appointment he performs wide range of mainly lower limb surgeries from arthroscopies and feet surgeries to hip and knee replacements, but also procedures on hand. Since 2023 he is also practicing at The New Foscote Hospital in Banbury.
