About me

Dr. Kim Last is a Consultant in Medical Oncology at Harrogate District and York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. He specialises in the treatment of gut cancers (colon, rectum, oesophagus and stomach) and liver, pancreatic and biliary tract cancers.

Kim qualified from King’s College, University of London in 1992 and obtained his MRCP in 1995. He completed his training in Medical Oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London. During his specialist training Dr Last was awarded a Clinical Research Fellowship with The Imperial Cancer Research Fund and undertook his doctoral research at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. In 2009 Dr Last obtained a PhD from Queen Mary College, University of London. His research was within the field of molecular and biochemical predictors of response in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

He has published several peer review papers and presented at a number of national and international meetings. He maintains an active role in clinical cancer research, particularly through clinical trials in the gastrointestinal malignancies.
