About me

I work with adults only. I have been working as a counsellor since 1999. It continues to be a privilege to share the lives of many clients struggling with illness and caring for others. I worked in GP practice for 10 years and in a local hospital for the last 16 years.

I work in an integrative way with my clients. This means that I draw on many different psychological ideas to help my clients. For some a person-centred approach of being listened to and being heard and having a safe place to explore thoughts and feelings is useful. For others, it may be that a cognitive behavioural approach might be more helpful for those who are feeling overwhelmed and might need to learn how to think about feeling. For others it might be to learn more about self or to develop new insights into the situation they find themselves in. I am able to offer mindfulness techniques for those who want to learn to relax and take a break from the chatter of the mind.
