About me
I have always enjoyed the company of children and no wonder I chose to do paediatrics as my career, since qualified as a doctor in 1993. I completed my higher specialist training at Evelina Children's Hospital, London and other teaching hospitals in south east London. I worked for the Children’s Acute Transport Service while training at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and at St.Mary’s Hospital London retrieving very sick children requiring Paediatric Intensive Care.
After gaining entry into the GMC’s specialist register in 2008, I joined as a Consultant Paediatrician at Maidstone Hospital at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, Kent. I have special interest in Paediatric Cardiology and Nephrology with close networking with cardiologists at the Royal Brompton Hospital London and the nephrologists at the Evelina Children's Hospital London.
I regularly teach medical students from King’s College London and St. George’s University London. I am a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University. I teach Paediatric Simulation and Resuscitation training for medical students and junior doctors. I am a qualified instructor for European Paediatric Life Support course.
Being a father helps me to view the children’s problems from the parents’ as well as the children’s perspective.
