Dr. Khalid is a highly distinguished and senior Consultant Gastroenterologist with a specialist focus on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, particularly for complex polyps and the early detection of colorectal cancer. His clinical practice is rooted in over 20 years of dedication to improving digestive health and advancing endoscopic techniques across Greater Manchester and the North West.

Dr. Khalid is a recognised leader in the field of Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy. He was instrumental in developing and leading the Complex Polypectomy Service at Pennine Acute Hospitals and continues to serve as an Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist across the region. His elite expertise involves highly specialised skills, including the use of state-of-the-art techniques such as Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), and Full Thickness Resection (EFTR). These skills allow him to safely and effectively remove complex polyps that might otherwise require major surgery, offering patients a less invasive and faster path to recovery.

Dr. Khalid's commitment to quality is unparalleled, demonstrated by his role as an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Endoscopist with performance metrics that rank among the best in the region. His diagnostic procedures are conducted to the highest possible standard, ensuring early and accurate identification of disease. Furthermore, his previous role as a National Clinical Assessor for the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) for endoscopy demonstrates his profound understanding of, and commitment to, delivering the very best quality and safety standards across the country.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Khalid holds significant leadership and educational roles, including serving as the Educator and Development Lead for the NW Endoscopy Training Academy. For over 10 years, he has held the prestigious position of Clinical Lead for Endoscopy across multiple NHS Trusts. These roles confirm his dedication not only to his own practice but to raising the standard of care for consultant colleagues and trainees across the region.
