About me
I have worked as an NHS counsellor for over 23 years working with a wide range of people and problems. I also have a private practice in Fleet in Hampshire. I was a senior lecturer in Counselling Psychology at University of Roehampton working on the psychD in counselling Psychology but have retired in 2019 and still do the occasional lecture as a VL. I have an MSc in counselling and psychotherapy from the University of Surrey and I'm accredited by BACP. I also have a qualification in DIT (dynamic Interpersonal Therapy) through the BPC which is a 16 session, focused psychodynamic approach suitable for depression and anxiety problems. This can be very helpful for those that prefer an alternative to CBT. DIT has a relational approach rather than a pedagogic one and has been developed at the BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) by professors Fonagy, Target and Lemma..
