About me
Dr. Kolhe has more than 25 years experience as a kidney doctor and has been consultant kidney doctor since 2006. He trained as Nephrologist and completed DM in Nephrology from KEM Hospital in Mumbai and subsequently trained in Leeds and London. He treats all aspects of kidney disease and he has particular interest in acute kidney injury, vasculitis, interstitial nephritis and chronic kidney disease. He is experienced in all kidney related procedures and has taught procedures to many of his trainees as well as in other countries.
Dr. Nitin Kolhe is Consultant Nephrologist, Deputy Medical Director and Chief Clinical Information Officer at University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Trust. He has served as Clinical Lead for Nephrology services (2015-2018), Clinical Director for Specialist Medicine (2018-2022) & Deputy Divisional Medical Director for Medicine (2022-2023). He set up the Midlands Kidney Network and was co-chair from 2020-2024. He is member of NHS England's Renal Clinical Reference Group and National Clinical Advisor for AKI. He was the Chair for Think Kidney's AKI measurement work-stream (2015-17) and was involved in development of the master patient index for AKI data being submitted to UKRR. His research interest is in epidemiology of AKI.
