About me

Professor Andrea Frilling is currently affiliated as Professor of Surgery and Chair in Endocrine Surgery with the Imperial College London, UK. She is the Lead of the ENETS
Centre of Excellence at Imperial. After her general surgical training she specialized in
endocrine surgery, hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, and oncologic abdominal surgery. She conducted comprehensive clinical research on treatment of neuroendocrine tumors and their liver metastases. She is intensively working towards personalized treatment of patients with
neuroendocrine tumors including clinical implementation of novel molecular imaging techniques, targeted treatment options and multimodal treatment approached. Her research is focusing on identification of novel biomarkers allowing for earlier disease detection, selection of treatment, and monitoring of response to treatment. She is involved in various clinical trials in patients with neuroendocrine tumors. In 2012 she organized an International Consensus Conference on Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases and developed guidelines including an algorithm for their management. She has published >500 scientific articles and book chapters. She is a reviewer for prestigious medical journals such as Annals of Surgery, British Journal of Surgery and Lancet Oncology. Her research work was awarded with numerous national and international grants.
