About me
I am a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, with a specialist interest in the management of lung cancer. With more than 20 years' experience in cancer medicine, I provide expert, individualised care and guide patients and their families through every stage of diagnosis and treatment. My practice encompasses a comprehensive range of systemic anti-cancer therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biological therapies and targeted treatments.
My specialist expertise in radiotherapy includes advanced curative intention treatments for lung cancer, such as stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, concurrent chemoradiotherapy and radical radiotherapy. I also provide carefully planned palliative radiotherapy to alleviate symptoms and optimise tumour control. I ensure that treatment recommendations are explained clearly and are tailored to each patient's clinical circumstances, priorities and preferences.
I am an active member of specialist multidisciplinary teams at Arrowe Park Hospital, the Countess of Chester Hospital, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and Noble's Hospital on the Isle of Man. Through close collaboration with colleagues across the relevant specialties, I contribute to comprehensive, evidence-based and well-coordinated treatment planning for each patient.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have maintained a longstanding commitment to oncology education and professional development. I have served as an examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists and as Co-Chair of the FRCR Part 1 Examination Board, completing a five-year term in that role. I currently serve as Oncology Lead at Edge Hill University Medical School and as an Educational Supervisor for oncology registrars at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. I have also taught on professional courses in the United Kingdom, India and Hong Kong.
I have a strong commitment to clinical research and serve as Principal Investigator for several national and international clinical trials. This work enables me to remain closely engaged with advances in lung cancer treatment and to provide patients with balanced, evidence-based discussions about established therapies and, where clinically appropriate, opportunities to participate in clinical trials.
I provide my private practice services through the Clatterbridge Private Clinic and provide Face-to-Face, Telephone and Video Consultations.
