About me

Ms Khandwala is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital. She has particular expertise is modern phako emulsification cataract surgery with implantation of multifocal and toric intra ocular lens implants to improve astigmatism and presbyopia.Special interests include cosmetic oculoplastic surgery of the eyelids and surrounding structures including skin cancers as well as surgery of the tear drainage system. She also has experience in managing blepharitis and dry eyes with the most up to date treatments available.

Ms Khandwala trained in ophthalmology in the South East of England, including Maidstone Hospital before undertaking a second fellowship in Norwich. During this period, she was an Honorary Lecturer of the University of East Anglia and was actively involved in teaching medical students, whilst pursuing research interests which include cataract surgery as well as newer ways of imaging eyelid skin cancers.

She is actively involved in medical education and is currently on the interview panel for medical admissions at University College London.She is on the faculty for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists microsurgical skills course and is also an Examiner for the Royal College.

Ms Khandwala has several publications in international journals and has delivered several lectures both nationally and internationally in her chosen field.
