About me

I am Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Barts Heart Centre and Honorary Consultant in Anaesthesia at UCL Hospitals in London. I studied medicine at the University of Goettingen (Germany) and trained in Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, Pain and Emergency Medicine at the University Hospital of Bonn and the Heart Hospital in London (UCL Hospitals). I completed further training and passed the German Board qualifying examinations in Advanced Intensive Care Medicine, prae Hospital Emergency Medicine and Health Informatics.

My key interests are in cardiothoracic and vascular anaesthesia but I also undertake a wide range of anaesthesia for all specialties including upper gastrointestinal surgery (oesophagectomies), gynaecology and obstetrics, orthopaedics and trauma, maxillofacial surgery, urology and opthalmology.

I have advanced training and expertise in transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) and I am accredited by the European Association of Echocardiography for TOE in adults.
