About me

Ms Smith joined Kettering having completed her registrar training in East Anglia. She graduated with Honours from Kings College Medical School, London in 1995. Before coming to Kettering she was locum consultant in Leeds and then Leicester Hospitals. Ms Smith is the ENT UK Director of Education and examines for the Royal College of Surgeons of England both in the UK and abroad. She is an Honorary Research Consultant at the RFL and is doing a PhD at UCL.
Ms Smith has over 35 publications, written 3 book chapters and regularly lectures both nationally and internationally.
Ms Smith interests are otology ( including ear surgery for cholesteatoma and discharging mastoid cavities), dizziness, nasal and sinus surgery and in the NHS paediatric ENT.

Otology (ears) incl conditions causing hearing loss, discharge, tinnitus, dizziness and vertigo.dewax of ears;meatoplasty (opening of external ear canal);grommet insertion; endoscopic repair of perforated ear drums; endoscopic and mastoid surgery to remove cholesteatoma and mastoid obliteration.
Nasal and sinus problems including nasal polyps. procedures including septoplasty and Functional endoscopic sinus surgery; Throat problems including voice disorders, tonsillitis ; cough; tonsillectomy
