About me
After graduating from Chennai Medical College, Chennai, India, I completed a Diploma in Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospitals, Madurai, India. I started as a senior house officer at North Middlesex NHS Hospital London and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. After completing my registrar rotation at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital I travelled to Brisbane, Australia for a one year Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery Fellowship. I completed my training in Manchester with a further one year Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery.
I provide the oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital service as part of a team at East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I specialise in managing patients with periocular tumours (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma) and lid malpositions (ptosis, entropion, ectropion). I also manage eyes that water excessively. I perform both external and endoscopic lacrimal surgery. I manage patients with thyroid eye disease and perform orbital decompression for protruding eyes and eyelid surgery for eyelid retraction and orbital fat prolapse. I also manage patients with eye socket problems.
I also undertake non-surgical cosmetic treatments including facial anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler injections.
I also provide a general ophthalmology service including cataract surgery and glaucoma management.
