About me
Mr Antony Pittathankal is a Consultant Breast Oncoplastic, Endocrine and General Surgeon at Spire Hartswood Private Hospital in Brentwood, Essex and Spire London East private hospital in Redbridge, Essex and Nuffield Brentwood Hospital in Brentwood Essex.
Mr Pittathankal trained within the prestigious National Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship and received his higher surgical training in the North East Thames Surgical Rotation. In addition, he received specialist endocrine surgical training at Hammersmith Hospital, west London. Currently in the NHS, Mr Pittathankal is the lead surgeon for breast services at King George Hospital, Ilford and Queen's Hospital, Romford, both in Essex.
Antony Pittathankal specialises in the treatment of all breast-related and endocrine surgical problems (thyroid, parathyroid and laparoscopic adrenal surgery) besides keyhole hernia and gallbladder surgery. He also trains junior surgeons in breast surgery, breast plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as keyhole surgery.
Treatment of breast disease
As a breast onco-plastic specialist, Antony Pittathankal is trained in both breast cancer surgery and breast plastic surgery. This means he is able to combine plastic surgical expertise with breast surgery experience to produce both an oncologically safe and cosmetic result. Even minor breast surgical procedures are carried out through specific incisions along cosmetic principles. When tissue is removed from the breast, special techniques are used to reduce the resulting volume and shape deficit. Antony Pittathankal also undertakes breast cancer risk reducing surgery.
Mr Pittathankal is assisted by a dedicated and experienced multidisciplinary team of breast care specialist nurses, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, anaesthetists and administrative assistants.
What to expect if you choose to see Mr Pittathankal
For cosmetic breast procedures Mr Pittathankal will give you advice from both cosmetic as well as future breast cancer risk/safety viewpoints. Having trained with plastic surgeons he has excellent links with these other specialists and works closely with them to bring you the best results.
Mr Pittathankal will use his considerable experience and expertise to assess your problems and give you enough time during consultations to address your anxieties.
