About me

Laura Dawson is a specialist speech and language therapist offering private, tailored speech and language therapy and assessment for both adults and children.

Laura received her training at University College London, a university for speech sciences; for which she was awarded the Clinical Prize for her clinical practice. Laura has advanced through her specialisms and currently works closely with referring consultants at Genesis Care and within the NHS. She is a highly motivated, skilled and dynamic therapist.

Within the NHS, Laura is a specialist speech and language therapist in head and neck cancer, working with patients for voice, swallowing and communication disorders. She is experienced in the treatment of speech, language and swallowing disorder as a result of general medical and neurological (stroke/progressive) conditions.

As an additional interest, Laura also specialises in the treatment of children's speech sound disorders/delays. She offers an energetic and engaging therapy service for children and encourages an MDT approach in her approach.

Laura only works with head and neck cancer patients at Genesis Care.
All other patients will be seen in the Essex area.

ADULTS: ENT including voice disorders, Head and neck cancer, dysphagia (swallowing disorders); NEURO inc. acquired communication disorder following a stroke or traumatic brain injury; progressive neurological disorders.
