About me

Mr David Murray MD FRCS graduated from St Andrew’s University and The University of Manchester in 1992 and 1995. He rotated through Surgical Training in the Northwest Region before entering Research in Vascular Biology at the University of Manchester.

He underwent Higher Vascular Surgical Training at Manchester Royal Infirmary, following which he was appointed Vascular and Endovascular Fellow at the John Hunter Hospital in Australia, gaining advanced experience in endovascular surgery for arterial disease, Aneurysms (EVAR) angioplasty and vascular trauma.

Areas of interest

I have a keen interest in minimally invasive "Keyhole" endovascular surgery for peripheral vascular disease, including angioplasty and stenting and combined open and endovacular surgery allowing earlier mobilty and reduced hospital inpatient stay.

Similarly, for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), my preference is to perform EVAR, complex EVAR including fenestrated and branches Iliac stents when possible and TEVAR for thoracic aneurysms.
I perform carotid endartercetomy surgery for the prevention of stroke, and conventional surgery and Radiofrequency Ablation or EVLT for varicose veins.
