About me

I qualified in 1998 from the University of Glasgow and completed basic medical training in various hospitals in Glasgow. I then undertook research in problem asthma, specifically examining aspects of upper airway involvement and dysfunctional breathing in relation to asthma, leading to an MD. Speciality training in Respiratory and General Medicine was completed as a registrar in and around Oxford.

I was consultant at the Great
Western Hospital, Swindon from 2010 to early 2019 where I led for asthma, bronchoscopy and established our pleural service.

I moved to the North East in January 2019 with my appointment at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle-upon-Tyne where I provide the pleural service and contribute to the severe asthma and lung cancer services. I still retain a strong interest in general respiratory medicine.

I continue to be active in research through collaborations with Bristol and Oxford.
