About me
Dr Baghai Ravary qualified from King's College London School of Medicine in 1996 and completed his specialist training in London, where he developed a particular interest in airway disease and published research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD.
He has broad expertise across respiratory medicine, with extensive subspecialty experience in chronic inflammatory and infective lung disorders, interstitial lung disease including fibrosis, lung nodules and cancer, pleural disease, and sleep medicine. He is highly experienced in specialist procedures such as bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound, and is skilled in the interpretation of lung function and sleep studies.
Since 2009, Dr Baghai Ravary has been a Consultant at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. During this time, he has led service improvements across several areas, including lung cancer care as lead clinician, community COPD management, lung function services, hospital antibiotic protocols, and COVID 19 high dependency care. He has contributed to pulmonary embolism guidelines as a member of the Thrombosis Committee and was recognised with a Trust Outstanding Innovation Award for developing the endobronchial ultrasound service.
Dr Baghai Ravary is also committed to medical education and training. He serves as host examiner for the Royal College of Physicians London in the Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills, PACES, in Canterbury and regularly delivers postgraduate and GP training.
In private practice, he offers patients rapid access to integrated, high quality respiratory care. With secure access to NHS investigations in East Kent, he provides a seamless pathway that combines consultations, tests, and imaging. His patient centred approach is designed to empower individuals to better understand and manage their lung health.
