About me
I am a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, with over 20 years experience in the counselling field. My practice is based in Whittlesey, Peterborough. The majority of my training was at Anglia Ruskin University, where I gained a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and a Post-Grad Diploma in CBT. I have worked in both hospital and private clinical settings, alongside a busy private practice.
Initially I trained in complementary therapies and worked with both psychiatric and cancer patients. I then became interested in the mind/body link, which led me into the field of counselling. I recognised how influential our thought patterns are in relation to how we live our lives and the importance of exploring our worries, rather than suppressing them, which in turn can lead to high anxiety and depression. I specialise in these areas, alongside ‘loss’ issues, which link not just to bereavement, but perhaps our work, our homes, illness, or family moving away. In recent days loss issues have extended in many ways, due to Covid-19.
I endeavour to provide a safe, confidential and professional environment, where you feel able to take time to explore your difficulties and find a way forward.
