About me

Dr Mohammed is the Cardiology Clinical lead for Echocardiography and Cardiac Imaging at St Helens and Whiston hospitals.
Dr Mohammed run regular cardiology clinic in Manchester (Spire Manchester Hospital ) which covers wide area at the North West including Greater Manchester , Stockport , The Pennines , Wigan , Bolton and Blackpool . He also runs The Cardiovascular clinics in Liverpool (Spire Liverpool Hospital ) and Saint Helens at Fairfield Independent Hospital which serves areas in Cheshire and Lancashire including Warrington , Southport , Wirral and Cheshire.
In His General Cardiology Clinic Dr Mohammed has expertise in assessing and managing conditions such as High Blood Pressure , Palpitations related to heart rhythm problems such as Atrial Fibrillation , Supraventricuoar Tachycardia (SVT) , Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome , long QT syndrome , Brugada syndrome and ectopic beats ,
He sees patients with coronary artery disease who present with chest pain (angina ) and after heart attacks or cardiac arrest.

Dr Mohammed has also wide experience in managing patients with syncope or dizziness due to slow heart rate who may need a pacemaker or younger people who my have conditions such as POT (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia) , Low blood pressure Vasovagal symptoms or long covid syndrome.

Dr Mohammed assessed and manages conditions such as Myocarditis Pericarditis or pericardial effusion.
He sees patients from BUPA clinic with ECG abnormalities like left ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH) , Left Bundle Branch block , Hemiblock , heart block , second degree heart block and left or right axis deviation,

Dr Mohammed sees patients with Heart murmurs due to valve disease such as aortic stenosis , mitral regurgitation or tricuspid regurgitation.
He sees patients with Congenital anomalies like atrial septal defect (ASD) and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).
Dr Mohammed has expertise in echocardiography where such patients may need more assessment with advanced imaging such as Transoesophageal echocardiogram , bubble contrast Echo.
He assessed patients with heart failure due to systolic, or diastolic.
Training :
Dr Mohammed has trained in both undergraduate and postgraduate Medicine and Cardiology with some of the best UK cardiologist in high volume reputable institution in Glasgow , Manchester , Sheffield , Staffordshire and Liverpool.
During his training Dr Mohammed took more focused subspeciality training in Echocardiography and cardiac imaging. He completed the Mersey Deanery Training Programme in Cardiology and General Medicine.

He is an established consultant cardiologist with extensive experience in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. In addition to general cardiology he is especially interested in cardiac imaging in providing accurate assessment for cardiac abnormalities. He is an active member in cardiac imaging professional societies.
Current Practice:
Dr Mohammed has long standing experience with cardiac conditions such as angina, heart failure, valve heart disease, atrial fibrillation. He is also experienced with cardiac risk assessment prior to non-cardiac surgery, Healthy Screening or Heart checks (Heart- Circulation MOT) for cardiovascular disease screening and primary prevention advice.
Stroke Medicine;
Dr Mohammed investigates and advises on cardiac assessment for stroke or TIA (Cryptogenic) patients who may need interventional therapy

Professional Standards Support :
Dr Mohammed supports maintaining high clinical and professional standards in his role as a Clinical Advisor to the Parliamentary Health Service (The Ombudsman) and as an Expert Witness and Cardiology Speciality Associate for the General Medical Council. He also an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and assessor for admission to the GMC Specialist Register in Cardiology.
Dr Mohammed champions high clinical and professional standards in Medicine and Cardiology with the aim of achieving high standards of care individually and within teams.
