Background
I qualified from Scotland, before undertaking surgical training in Australia and at The Royal London hospital. During my Orthopaedic Specialist training I undertook a specialist Hip fellowship with Miss Sarah Muirhead-Allwood and Professor Fares Haddad. I have also been fellowship trained in knee surgery and sports surgery of the knee.

Clinical Interest
My clinical interest and experience lies in hip and knee reconstructive surgery. I am able to offer a tailored service to my patient as I perform joint preservation surgery through to ligament reconstruction and hip and knee replacement. I also help patients who are looking towards non surgical options to manage their condition using advanced rehabilitation and techniques, bracing and biologics. Where indicated I use Joint preservation techniques using stem cells and platelet rich plasma, to preserve the natural joint, collating my outcomes. I also use custom 3D computer planning and custom made implants.

Research Interest
My research interest lies in improving surgical and quality of life outcomes.  My aim is to provide enhanced recovery by adopting approaches that improve the whole patient journey from pre-operative assessment to post-operative rehabilitation. I have published and presented my research work in Europe and the USA. I use the MyRecovery app to enhance patient wellness, aid recovery and measure outcomes and feedback.

Other Interests
I am passionate about my role as the Director of medical Education and place a strong emphasis on postgraduate orthopaedic training. I lecture on a number of orthopaedic courses and am an author reviewer for a number of prestigious journals.
I work within a group structure, Total Orthopaedics, that exists to provide a multi-speciality service with the benefits of collaborative and innovative working.
