About me
Dhaval qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1997 and finished his basic surgical training in the West Midlands. Prior to his specialist training in Urology he undertook a period of research in prostate cancer and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine in 2003.
He completed his specialist training in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. Prior to taking up his Consultant post he undertook a fellowship abroad in stone disease to broaden his surgical skills and knowledge.
Dhaval joined the team at Nottingham University Hospitals from Leicester. He has a sub-specialist interest in the diagnosis and treatment of complex urinary stone disease but is also an experienced general urologist. He has a keen interest in medical education for which he has formal qualifications and has just demitted as Programme Director for the urological trainees in the East Midlands but is currently the Head of Service at the Nottingham Urology Centre. He is also a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Urology for the Royal College of Surgeons.
Dhaval is married with two young children and outside work he has a keen interest in travelling and cricket.
