About me

Mr Beatty is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and at the Three Shires Hospital in Northampton (private). He was appointed in 2009 to develop the laparoscopic pelvic oncology service at Northampton General and to support the existing laparoscopic and open oncology service. In 2014 he moved to Leicester with the centralisation of major prostate surgery. He now performs Robotic Prostatectomy using the Da Vinci Robot in Leicester for patients from Leicestershire and Northamptonshire both privately and on the NHS.

He trained in oncological surgery at Imperial College and at the The Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He completed a radical prostatectomy fellowship in Leipzig, Germany under Professor Stolzenburg at the University of Leipzig.

In addition to general urology he has a sub-specialty interest in robotic pelvic oncology (robotic radical prostatectomy) and upper tract laparoscopy (laparoscopic nephrectomy and robotic partial nephrectomy). A complete general urology service is provided including surgery for benign prostate disease. His thesis was on bladder cancer for which he received a MD from the University of London. He maintains an academic interest in clinical research and teaching.

He is a trustee of PROSTaid a local charity of Patients, Nurses and Urologists, working with Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire Hospitals to help men with prostate cancer.
