About me
Bijay is a senior Gastroenterologist with over 15 years of experience in his field offering specialist diagnosis and management of GI and Liver diseases. He was trained at Addenbrookes' Hospital Cambridge, Guy’s& St Thomas’ Hospital, among others.
He was awarded a PhD by the University of London for his Research on Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This work was recognised by awards from the American Gastroenterological Association, the British Society of Gastroenterology and the British Association of Study of the Liver. Some of these discoveries were patented at King’s College, London. He has authored book chapters, Journal articles and expert topic reviews in his field. This academic focus continues to date as he leads the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Clinical Research Network. In the past, he has served as the Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology at MTW NHS Trust and the Training Programme Director at Health Education KSS leading to a number of Clinical Excellence awards in recognition of his achievements.
As a skilled endoscopist, he offers safe and comfortable procedures that exceed National Quality standards. This includes Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound. His NHS clinical time is divided between King’s College Hospital, London and Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
