Areas of interest
Area of specialisation is skin lesions and skin cancer and he has an extensive practice of patients with these conditions.
Dominic Ayers is an expert in the diagnosis of skin lesions and as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon also a specialist in the surgical removal of lesions with the minimum possible scarring.
He sees patients for assessment of moles as well as mole removal and 'mole mapping'. He removes non-cancerous lesions as well as treating all forms of skin cancer - in particular Melanoma, BCC and SCC. He does not see patients with rashes, eczema, psoriasis or other generalised skin conditions for which patients should ask to see a BUPA approved dermatologist.
Treatment of skin cancer is particularly specialist and patients should ideally have lesions removed by a surgeon such as Dominic Ayers, who is a member of the ‘Skin Cancer Multi-disciplinary team' or ‘MDT'.
