About me
Professor Alexander Bennett has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at the
Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Stanford Hall/Headley Court since October 2008 and at Guys and St Thomas' Teaching Hospitals between 2009-2016
His specialist training from 2001-2008 took place in centres of excellence including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals London and Leeds Teaching Hospitals for Rheumatology, and for Sports Medicine at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre, Melbourne and the Centre for Health Exercise and Sports Medicine, University of Melbourne, Australia.
Professor Bennett is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, The secretary of the British Society of Spondyloarthritid and a member of the British Society for Rheumatology, the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and theInternational Society of Assessment in Ankylosing Spondylitis (ASAS).
He is an international expert and leader in the field of Spondyloarthropathy and has published widely and lectures regularly at national and international conferences. Professor Bennett also has great experience and expertise in the fields of other inflammatory arthritic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis as well back pain, gout, osteoporosis and sport and exercise medicine.
