About me

I am one of the Senior Consultant Rheumatologist with more than 24 years of clinical experience in Rheumatology based at one of the busy teaching hospitals in Leicester. I am also a Hon Associate Professor at Leicester Medical school , University of Leicester.
I hold an Honorary Professor post (International ) in one of the prestigious Medical University chennai , India.

After qualifying in 1989 I underwent a structured postgraduate training in general medicine for three years. I later went on to train in Rheumatology at Manchester, Wrightington, Northampton, and Leicester. I also completed a part-time postgraduate MSc course in Clinical Rheumatology at the University of Manchester.

During my training, I won a traveling fellowship from The British Society for Rheumatology and a travel bursary from the European Rheumatology Society EULAR.

I have developed a special interest in ultrasound in Rheumatology and undergone training at the University of Ancona, Italy under Prof W Grassi.
Currently, run the Ultrasound synovitis clinic to detect and Treat Rheumatoid arthritis Early as per Treat to Target principle.
My special interest extended into Inflammatory back pain, where there been a delay of diagnosis up to 8years in the UK. I run a tertiary level clinic for diagnosing and treating Inflammatory back pain (Ankylosing spondylitis ).
We also run Combined Eye and Joint clinic (one of the services run very few centers in the UK).

A very keen learner and update Rheumatology skills.
Keen in treating challenging cases in Rheumatology

Actively involved in teaching and training future Doctors and invited as guest speaker for various national, ​International scientific meeting

Change maker award - Silver category 2023 Dec Recived from NASS for improving diangosis and managment of patinets with Axial Spondyloarthropathy .
