About me

Mr Tony Corner is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon whose clinical practice is dedicated to treating patients with problems of the shoulder, elbow and upper limb using the latest techniques at Spire Harpenden hospital. He treats all patients with impingment, rotator cuff tears, dislocations, arthritis, frozen shoulder, calcific tendinitis and sports injuries. He also treats elbow conditions such as tennis/golfers elbow, ulnar nerve entrapment and elbow arthritis. Mr Tony Corner performs surgery at Spire Harpenden hospital using the latest arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques to repair tendons and ligamnts in the shoulder. He performs all types of joint replacement for the shoulder and elbow.
Mr Tony Corner practises evidenced based medicine using the latest techniques and communicates closely with the patient's therapist to ensure optimum recovery following any treatment.

Mr Tony Corner qualified from St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College London and later underwent specialist Orthopaedic training in London. He subsequently undertook an advanced training fellowship in complex upper limb reconstruction in the UK. In 2009 he was awarded the prestigious British Orthopaedic Association European Travelling Fellowship whereby he gained invaluable experience from four of the world’s leading shoulder surgeons in France, Italy and Switzerland.

Mr Corner’s main surgical interest is in arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder surgery for the treatment of impingement, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability (dislocations), frozen shoulder and sports related injuries. He also offers a full range of surgery for shoulder and elbow arthritis including joint resurfacing and total joint replacements including both standard and reverse polarity arthroplasties.

He has published numerous research papers in orthopaedic surgery and this work has been presented at many national and international meetings.

Mr Corner is a faculty member for courses provided nationally teaching techniques of arthroscopic shoulder reconstructive surgery to other orthopaedic consultants and higher trainees. Mr Corner is an invited to national and international conferences.
