About me
Dr Jain is an experienced cardiologist specialising in coronary intervention (angioplasty). He has been a consultant for over 10 years and works at the Barts Heart Centre part of St Bartholomew's Hopsital, one of the largest cardiac centres in Europe. He is the clinical lead for the Heart Attack Centre at Barts.
Dr Jain manages patients with all types of cardiovascular problems. He has specific expertise in managing patients with chest pain and related syndromes and also assessing and managing cardiovascular risk.
Dr Jain has a special interest in the assesment and treatment of patients with high blood pressure (hypertension)
He also is interested in patients with, breathing problems, palpitations (an abnormal awareness of the heart beating) and fainting episodes.
Dr Jain performs coronary angiography and coronary stent procedures at the The Barts Heart Centre (for both NHS and Private patients).
Dr Jain research interests include the design and development of devices to facilitate intra-vascular and coronary procedures. He holds several patents in this field, and has licensed products to commercial partners for development. He is involved in several start-up companies, and acts as a medical consultant to several major medical device manufacturers. Recent grant awards have been to support work in the development of novel cardiac devices for cardiac support, and computational models of the vascular system to mimic conditions such as myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock.
