About me

Mr Matthew Cichero is an experienced Consultant Podiatric Surgeon with a particular interest in the surgical correction of foot deformities and arthritis. He graduated as a podiatrist in Australia in 1996 and was awarded the Peer Professional Clinical Prize. His qualifications include a master's degree in Podiatric Surgery in 2007, in addition to a Fellowship with the Australian College of Podiatric Surgeons in 2011. He has also held lecturing positions at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. One of his most distinguished career milestones includes becoming the first Australian podiatric surgeon to be awarded dual Fellowship, qualifying with the Royal College of Podiatry (UK), in 2013.

Previously, Mr Cichero has worked establishing clinical services in Singapore and remote indigenous populations in the Northern Territory of Australia. He has held consultant roles in both the NHS and private sectors, including Great Western Hospital (20102024), and currently practices in London, Wiltshire and Cornwall, alongside NHS work with the Independent Health Group.

His approach to care is holistic, and comprehensive, with surgical expertise underpinned by a strong foundation in biomechanics for the foot and ankle.

He has presented at national and international conferences and co-authored internationally recognised peer reviewed publications on topics such as big toe joint fusions, tarsal tunnel, bone infection and diabetic foot management. He remains active in surgical education as a tutor in Podiatric Surgery (UK) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
