About me

I qualified from King's College, London in 1993 and did my early postgraduate training in multiple surgical specialties in London. I was appointed as a Specialist Registrar to the Oswestry Orthopaedic programme and subsequently did two super-specialist fellowships in hand surgery at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby and at the Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital. My speciality: Modern Hand Surgery is a cross-over specialty between Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery as a deep understanding of both soft tissue surgery and bone surgery is crucial for a satisfactory outcome of treatment.I have had training in both aspects of Hand Surgery and find that a mixed approach to surgery to be beneficial for my patients. I also work closely with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to offer a multidiscipinary strategy to maximise outcome. Common conditions requiring treatment range from carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger through ganglions and Dupuytren's disease to arthritic conditions of the hand and wrist to carpal instabilities and post-injury hand and wrist problems. Any problem affecting the hand, wrist or forearm falls within the scope of Hand Surgery.
