About us
Appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the University Hospital Leicester in 2009.
Completed undergraduate medical education and post graduate surgical training from the Armed Forces Medical College (University of Pune). He served with the Indian Navy from 1987 to 1998 as a medical officer and a surgeon.
At Leicester, he has helped set up robotic colorectal surgery since 2014 and laser proctology since 2016.
He is interested in clinical research and trials and is a member of the Cohort Studies Committee of the European Society of Coloproctology since 2014. He aslo has in interest in Global Surgery and is the International Representative on the council of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland since 2023.
Areas of interest
Robotic and laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and complicated diverticular disease;
Complex incisional and parastomal hernia repairs;
Laser and less invasive therapies for haemorrhoids, fistula in ano, anal fissures and pilonidal sinus disease;
Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy.
