About me

Jonathan Miles is an NHS consultant at the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, the only specialist orthopaedic Hospital in London. His private practice is at the Wellington hospital, where he is the orthopaedic lead. He specialises in surgery of the knee and hip and takes specialist referrals from consultants all over the country for complex cases where expert decision making and surgical skills are vital. He is a high volume specialist in robotic joint replacement, specialising in extreme accuracy of implantation. He performs partial knee replacement, total knee replacement and total hip replacement with robot assistance, leading to significantly lower complication rates than the national averages. He is the revision knee replacement lead for London and a national trainer and adviser in revision total knee replacement. As such, he is one of the most respected revision knee surgeons in the UK and sees painful, infected or failing knee replacement patients for opinions and surgery from all over the world. He has also developed techniques to use robotics in revision of partial to total knee replacements. He sees a high volume of athletes, professional and amateur, to deal with sports knee injuries such as meniscus tears, ACL injuries and cartilage injuries. Mr. Miles maintains a high interest in developing and learning in orthopaedics: he has written two books and well over 100 scientific papers, many of which describe new and advanced techniques to deal with complex knee and hip revision scenarios. He also trains in robotic joint replacement and revision knee surgery worldwide. His anaesthetic team use advanced techniques to reduce postoperative pain and improve outcomes significantly. contributes to his patient satisfaction scores being amongst the highest in the country.
