About us

I have worked clinically for 30 years. After 16 years of NHS experience as a clinical psychologist, including as a service lead, I started my own company to balance family commitments with my love of clinical work. I now manage an independent psychology practice alongside seeing clients. Like all clinical psychologists, I follow best practice guidelines in treating a variety of emotional problems.

Alongside, I am a qualified Cognitive Analytic Therapy practitioner and supervisor, involving 3 years additional therapeutic training, and provide consultation, training and supervision for other professionals. I keep up to date, attending regular training in therapeutic techniques and psychological topics, and have ongoing specialist supervision in cognitive analytic and cognitive behavioural therapy to support my work.

If you are seeking to feel better in yourself, want to develop your life and relationships, I'm happy to have an introductory discussion with you about how therapy could help you.
I work with :
• sadness or depression
• anxieties and fear
• work stress
• relationship issues
• grief
• eating problems
• obsessional thoughts and habits or rituals
• self harm
• carer stress
• post traumatic symptoms

First, we meet for an initial assessment so I can find out more about you as a person, your life experiences, mood and what you want support with, and you can see how I work too. If it seems helpful to meet again, I will discuss with you what therapy will involve and how many sessions may be useful. In therapy itself, we work on understanding what you want and to understand what might be holding you back or keeping you stuck. Collaboratively, we find ways forward at your pace. We name unhelpful repeating patterns in your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships. We explore how you might better manage, including introducing new coping strategies. Therapy often involves work between sessions too, because practice really helps new habits and skills form.

I often work with clients with neurodiversity, like dyslexia, attention deficit and hyperactivity, autistic spectrum or acquired brain injury. I can refer onto specialist colleagues as necessary.

Please get in touch with any queries or for a brief conversation to see how I can be of help. If I am full, I work with other BUPA registered psychologists who may be able to assist too.
