- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
As a Counselling Psychologist I seek to bring psychological knowledge to understanding of a client's problems, and together creating a shared understanding of that experience and psychotherapy options. For anxiety and depression CBT may be the treatment of choice. Where we are working within a limited time frame a solution-focussed approach may be the most appropriate.
I have over 15 years experience in NHS employment within an adult mental health psychology service and in primary care. I now work only independently, running a small private practice, seeing people either in person or by videolink.
I have particular interests in the emotional impact of physical health problems, on both patient and relatives/carers; and end of life care.
My consulting room is accessible to those with mobility impairments.
Coping with the challenges we face in the world through climate change, migration and changing demographics is a further area of interest.
