About me

I graduated from Madras Medical College in Madras (now known as Chennai) in 1986. After my internship I came to the UK and began surgical training in Shrewsbury after passing the PLAB exams in 1987. Surgical training took me to Wales and Ireland and I passed the Fellowship in General Surgery in 1991 after taking the exams in Scotland. My higher surgical training in orthopaedics was on the East Anglian Programme based at Cambridge and I rotated through Peterborough, Bury St Edmunds and Colchester.

I completed training and exit exams (FRCS Orth) and returned to Chennai, India in 1998. Four years later, I came back to Colchester where I became involved in setting up the spinal pathway to facilitate the early management of patients with spinal problems.
