About me
I am a full time Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, based at both the West Suffolk Hospital (NHS) and the BMI St Edmunds Hospital (Private). I have been a Consultant for five years. My areas of expertise are primary (first time) and revision joint replacements, of both the hip and knee. I have a particular interest in the surgical management of Osteoarthritis in the younger, active patient. I am the only fellowship trained hip replacement surgeon practising at the BMI Hospital, here in Bury St Edmunds. I am able to use both traditional and more modern up-to date contemporary joint replacements. This expertise allows a bespoke implant choice to each patient rather than using a one size fits all approach.
My Private Practise scope is confined to areas that I regularly undertake in the NHS, so patients can be assured that their operating surgeon is thoroughly trained expert, rather than a 'jack of all trades'.
I regularly teach on Hip and Knee Replacement instructional courses for Smith and Nephew, Stryker, and De Puy, as well as Hip Fracture Management Courses for De Puy and Stryker. I have recently been appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Anglia Ruskin University.
